Finally done up our wedding site…

Credits goes to Princess Sabrina for her wonderful wordpress theme! I took the liberty to modify the background image and removed some stuff. Hopefully, she doesn’t sue me :P.
The entire site was done on a Ubuntu machine using latest Wordpress and Gimp (photoshop equivalent). I am sorry if you find my smile a bit plastic because I really can’t smile on demand like my beautiful wife. Hey! Opposite attracts ![]()
An interesting Dailytech entry that can be concisely summarized by Mr Huang Jen-Hsun’s (CEO of NVidia) statement: “How much faster can you render the blue screen of death?”. LOL
When you are immerse in an working environment where hostility is norm, getting back is the motivation behind doing the things we do. I’m really tired working for other people’s agenda, especially to learn that within the same building, they are so many people who want to see each other’s unit dead.
I left the first company because I no longer see myself creating solutions but fire-fighting issues created by politics. I left the 2nd company despite a nice pay check. But what’s the point of money when you have no say over your own work. I rather take less than be a rich puppet. Now, all I can see is vengeance within a bloated corporate facade and an association of seniority with mediocrity.
I do not invent or create products so that you can kill off bloated divisions. I am more concern with organizing ourselves to produce viable and sustainable solutions. I do not like to wait or listen to your reasons for things not done. Units with no skills or passion will die a natural death. I see no need to hold a meeting to discuss pointless strategies revolving around personal vendettas. I really want to excuse myself from these stupidity and pursue my own agenda…
Sean’s recent SMS really made my day. I was told that the staff from 中环茶餐厅 were quite positive about SMSPerks after receiving their training from Sean. We both hope that consumers will also positively receive this novel way of sharing good deals and services. In these times of inflation, who doesn’t want to save some $$$ with discounts and perks?
It has been an interesting journey for me; from idea to implementation to operations. After all the delays of trying to work things out with a few “business” partners, I am thankful that SMSPerks is finally a reality together with my old-time friend. I do not have 100% certainty that it will make us a fortune, but at least our perseverance and patience have paid off. The satisfaction of making our system potentially useful for the merchants has no price tag.
Now I just can’t wait to see our posters at 中环茶餐厅 outlets!
